Back to my Dresden shots.

I was looking for something else and found this. For some reason it did not make my inital cut for editing, so I haven't really looked at it till today. I don't know why I missed it at the time, but I am glad that I noticed it now.

"The Dresdner Frauenkirche ("Church of Our Lady") is a Lutheran church in Dresden, Germany and was destroyed in the firebombing of Dresden during World War II.It has been reconstructed as a landmark symbol of reconciliation between former warring enemies." (From Wikipedia Entry HERE (external link))

One of the days that we had in Dresden rained all day long. Just about an hour before sunset the rain stopped. I was one of at least a dozen people running around with a tripod setting up wherever we could. It was the same shot that I got THESE SUNSETS.

As always, comments, critique, thoughts and feelings are encouraged.

I like the first shot a lot because of the beautiful light. I also like the angle and perspective here. I do however wish you could have gotten the whole building and not cut off the base, still a great shot!

That's a lovely piece of light you've caught there, but while the B&W version is a nice photo, it doesn't convey the warmth of the light that the colour shot does.

No.1 is the shot for me, I disagree regards cutting the building off, on this occasion I like the angle you have chosen I think the composition is excellant :) If I was going to change anything it would be to crop out the bright red roof in the bottom right of the frame as it detracts from the image. Just my opinion though :)

I noticed that some people liked the color and others liked the mono. So for fun, I thought to blend them and I really like the result. Here is the Mono layered on top of the Color, blend mode to Hard Light, with a little erasing in the lower left, as that got too dark.

What do you think?

Very effective Rad, and subtle too as the sky could still be mistaken for an overcast one rather than being a B&W one.

Both versions are excellent. Love the light in the first one and the mood of the second! AND the combo of the 3rd is so beautiful!

I like the B/W version, it's a lovely shot Radtech, BUT the color version is just awesome. The sunset photos you linked to as well are really something else. Great shots, great light, great locations. Thanks for sharing.

I love the colour version, sunset colours cann't be seen in the B&W version. I have a question, why did you take it at f4.5 and ISO 800 if you had a tripod (not a critisism, just asking)?
