for me, personally...i wish there was a little more in focus. just a little though...

but that's kind of being picky...it's a really great shot...very thoughtful.

i am headed to dachau in a couple weeks for a photo shoot....although it's unfortunate, for lack of a better term (can it even be put into a word?!?), that places like this ever existed in the first place. :(

great shot anyway....

".....Nice camera! .....How many times zoom?!?"

I think this photo really resonates with me because I was there. the starkness and grey tones in the photo capture that part of the feelings one has while walking through Auschwitz.
Its a very original shot in a place that's heavily photographed. well done.

joegolf68 thanks for a very honest reply to my post, I appreciate your comments. You maybe correct with no one wanting to be negative due to the location. I hope this is not the case as I always welcome honest feedback. I do agree with some of your suggestions on moving back slightly and having more in focus, as I said before I had like 30seconds to take the shot as the tour guide was walking on with the rest of the group, and I had to wait until everyone was out of the shot, quickly take the shot and then run to catch up with the group again ;) If I ever visit Auschwitz again (which I probably will) I will not take the guide and will take more time composing shots to try and do the place justice if you know what I mean. Once again thanks for your comments.

suomi7777 thanks for your comments, I have explained above why more was not in focus. Appreciate your feedback. Good luck in dachau, to say enjoy is wrong. I hope you manage to get some shots that portray the feeling and emotions of the place. Please post them up when you return.

dougxt thank you. I am glad you liked the shot and I really appreciate the kind words of thinking I had captured an original shot and managed to capture the feelings of the place. That means a lot.

Thanks Ricky

Hi Ricky
Your shot is just so personal. It brings it all down to such a human level.
We must not forget the vastness of the evil but your shot speaks of individuals .. those who put the wire there and those who were imprisoned by it.
Thank you for sharing.
Paul
