Hello everyone, Im an Interactive designer by day and aspiring photographer like many here on POTN.

Right now a current project is a client in Mariland, so far he has been a client from hell i wont get into details CFH should be enough.

As we approach the completion of his project he asked if we could process his images. I dont think he can do it himself.... He has about 500 images he wants to correct. Nothing major; levels, curves, color, sharpness. My company asked me specifically if i want to take this since they see me processing my own images.

Personally im pissed off with this guy even tho i have never met him or spoke to him in my life. Should i take the gig? Im having trouble finding a rate, since there is no photog included. My rates usually include processing. If i were to what would be a good rate to charge him at? this is what he proposed as a start:

Pick the best 100 out of 500
Process them ready for print
Maybe for web viewing also

I know everyone loves taking about rates, if anyone feels weird please by all means feel free to take this conversation to PM....

Thanks Everyone!

I would charge on a time taken basis. At work we spend hours manipulating images in photoshop for clients and charge out at £90 per hour.

Charge him by the hour. Do not go below $100usd an hour. Many photo processing houses will charge upwards of $175 an hour.

Dont let your anger for him get in the way of your $$$$$. It probably wont even take you that long, or you can even just batch process them if you have a program that will do that for you. Good luck.

hey people, I didn't know that image processing is so expensive. My company takes $150 for making 500 photos on wedding and image processing about 100. I think that we should raise our rate ;) What do you think? look at our job on website http://www.rkstudio.pl (external link)
