So I have my 20D that I just got and the images it takes are numbered "_MG_xxxx.jpg". Is there any way for the filenames to be made as "IMG_xxxx.jpg"?
Thanks,
Reed

I may be wrong, but I believe if you shoot in RAW format they will be IMG instead of _MG.

No, it is not the RAW, it is Adobe RGB.

When you change your color space to sRGB, your pictures will have IMG_xxxx format.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Thanks for the correction, I knew it had something to do with a setting but couldn't remember what :)

But you shouldnt settle on another color space JUST to get the file name you want.

Its easy to use a naming program or even a program such as Photomechanic that will change the name as you download them or immediately after download.

If you use a PC, Flash Renamer is an awesome program that will allow you to change a whole folder of images to an exact naming scheme you want.

If you are on a Mac, A Better Finder Rename does a great job doing the same thing.

If you use Photomechanic or BreezeBrowser you can use that program to do the rename for you, PM will even do it upon download if you want and BB you can simply do it after you download.

All those would be a much smarter thing to do if you want to get rid of the underscore rather than changing to sRGB if you really want Adobe RGB to begin with.
