close. 24-70, 70-200 2.8IS, 300 f2.8 + 1.4tc+ 2tc

that should give me portraits, wildlife and landscape which is most of what i do.

I can almost do that. I can still make claim for a lens or two, that would help, but its do-able.

I have a 16-35, 50 1.4, 70-200 2.8IS, 120-300 2.8.

Only other lens i'd seriously consider are midrange zoom and 85 1.8. Although I could have used a 400 2.8 at the USC-UCLA game.

You won't see me throwing any stones Dante. I moved from my 20d to a 1DsmkII five months ago and I just love it. First time shooting FF since I sold my 35mm gear six years ago. I kept the 20d thinking I would use it but it has not left the bag.

 well, yeah, but I saved myself 100 dollars in renting costs. And also the time needed to take the lens from and back to where i rent it at. :)

5 L primes when you get the 50 1.2. That's a whole lot more than me. I have no prime L lenses. Someday, I'm thinking the 135L, but not until I get the rest paid for. :)

Its not the glass my dear! its what you do with it.

Well Dante, I was seriously worried that young and ambitious prince Tareq might throw you off your royal throne, after your reckless 5D adventure! ;)
Now I am relieved to see that everything is back in order.. :D

Me too!

I knew it was only a matter of time until Dante cleared the cooking grease from his head.

How can one possibly go from the current (even if soon to be replaced) world's best 35mm camera, to literally half the camera in build, speed, etc?

And to anybody who thinks for a minute that it was an even trade back, I've got a bridge for sale.

Dante, welcome back to the world of the sane.

And to the Town of 2.8ville.

You've been headed here all along....

There is only one more step to take, that 4-gig digital field camera.....
