Hi,

Three weeks ago I posted photos of a stack of railroad ties at a construction site nearby. The concensus feedback from you all was that I needed to go back and focus in on the texture of individual ties not the stack as a whole.

So, here is my 2nd attempt...as always C&C are much appreciated.

Thanks, I agree...I like these much better. I think I over exposed them a bit so I am back next weekend for a third try. I used PSCS "Curves" to tone these down a bit.

Like number 1 very much. Never saw the earlier shots, but you did well with these.

Thanks for the positive feedback...the original posts were of the entire stack of 50+ ties...from a distance...folks here told me I missed the real photo opportunity...and to focus in on the grain and testure...these are the result. I am having a ball learning to "see" the beauty around me through the lens :)

I like the second one very much! I would have preferred more DOF though to keep the whole log end sharp.
