Hi all,

I havn't posted for a while it seems so I thought it may be an oppertunity to have a quick go with Neat Image of some recent Football pics. These were all adjust with NI's auto setting then taken into PS for some colour balancing and sharpening. Some practice needed as I think one or two players look a little plastic in places!

Ta for looking...tips on using NI welcomed :)

Marc, the images look great to me. Under newspaper print I don't think you would know that any noise removal was applied. The 3rd looks to have 'lost' the most detail, look at his thigh and forearm.

Have you still got the original noisy images? I'd be interested to see the originals compared to the reduced noise versions.

Thanks Crazy, if I was a bit more switched on that pic could have been made alot better by increasing the DOF...the West Ham fans you can see were making all sort of gestures in Lampard's direction. If your not familiar Lampard was a West Ham player before moving on to Chelsea.

Hay Marc, nice shots. For my taste - and that is all it is really - I think I would have backed off the denoising just a bit. The chroma levels just seem to get squashed a bit much when the denoisification (is that even a word?) gets too strong. With that said, I do like the last shot and I don't think it is denoisified too much... it has an ok feel to it.

All just my opinion... for what it's worth. You can devalue it at the current exchange rate.. which is what... 1.8 something to 1 right now I think. 2 cents just don't go very far any more.

Cheers.

Marc, what ISO were you shooting with?

I recently took some (none-sport) pics in awfull light, with some flash assist.

At ISO 800 on my 20D they came out not-too-bad, but my 1D (MkIIN) seemed to make a right "pigs ear" of them at the same ISO. Just wondered how you found night shots in difficult lighting?

Cheers

Graham, get out now. The 300mm cannot wait until the summer.

Marc - loving these - some great images. 4 and 5 do it for me (Off at a tangent, is that a hint of a love handle there on Mr Lampard!?)

Hi Rodrigo,

There are a couple of different games there, one Premeirship and one FA Cup match. I shoot for an agency and was covering the games on their license.

Licenses are only handed out when certain criteria have been met, namely 'x' amount of published images over a given period of time.

Hi Mark, how's it going ? Not spoken to you for a while now it seems!

As I said these were all done on auto, I was at a loose end for 1/2 hour and thought that after seeing some of Gavin's recent pics I should try and tart mine up a bit for showing off on the forum.

Re the exchange rate.... great innit ;)
