Is there any better way to protect the LCD screen on my 20D?
Any thoughts, ideas are welcome and appreciated.

The part that can be touched and scratched is actually LCD screen protector.
It's very cheap and easy to replace.

No need to protect the protector IMHO.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

When I'm thinking about it, I will dig out my old PDA covers for the LCD, but it doesn't need it. Those LCD screens are pretty tough. I was a little neurotic about it getting dirty by my face touching it. Now I just wipe it off with my sleeve. :)

You absolutely do not need to do anything to protect the protective cover that's over the LCD screen right now. It's just about the toughest material out there. I've banged my 20D around for quite a while now, and when it gets greasy or sweaty I just wipe it off with anything handy. There's not a scratch on it.

If you do manage to damage the transparent cover, it's replaceable for less than $20 US. My understanding is that it can be removed with a suction cup and the new one goes onto a strip of adhesive.

If you seriously scratch the protective cover on the LCD, you might want to seriously look at how seriously the rest of the camera is damaged.

I like SuzyView's method of cleaning - although I breathe on it first to help in getting my skin oil off!!

Yeah these screens are indestructible (don't blame me though if you break it )
Great quality and my camera has been around the block a few times without even the faintest trace of a scratch.
My dad though was paranoid and put the PDA screen protectors over his screen (just cut the protector to fit the screen)

A better way than what? Are you using something now?
Like others have said, it's really not necessary but if you want to use something, this company makes a pretty good product.

It may be tough, but you still don't want it to get scratched.

I would recommend putting some clear tape over it. Not all the time, just when needed. On holiday, I kept my camea loose in my bag and when I took it out it had a deep and wide scuff mark which is really annoying because it obscures part of the image.

You can probably buff out the scuff mark if it's just on the surface. I use automotive clear coat polish - available at almost any auto parts retailer including places like Wal-Mart - and a soft cloth. Rub in a small amount until it is almost dry. Then wipe off any haze with a clean portion of the cloth. This works on lots of plastics. I use it most on my plastic wristwatch crystal.

I have a hair behind the LCD protector of my Canon A70.

I cut up a PDA protector for my 20D and 30D. I have them, might as well use them.

Not worth the trouble. And the A70's screen cover is a far cry from the ones on the DSLRs.
