Chobe elephant gets dirty

3 shots out of hundreds taken during 2 days stay at Chobe Game Lodge. These were taken handheld from a boat with the 5D, 70-300 IS + 1.4 TC, ISo 320. The elephants make their way to the river during the hottest, rain free days and can be found there by the hundred.

SUPER shots buddy!
First one if I had to choose, but they are all amazing. Such awesome creatures, highly social and intelligent.

What's the s/s on these by the way?

Do they actually drink that water aswell as cooling down? it seems pretty filthy.

This was a large mud hole right next to the river, the river itself was being drunk and pooed in, by the elephants :|

On boat, supping beer and taking pictures....in the sun... it was terrible :)
