Slightly damp on Sunday morning for my usual gig down Hackney way...

...and, as a result, a distinct lack of action to shoot. Still, it was a welcome opportunity to put my camera in a puddle ;)

It is a nice shot! Might be better if that puddle was iced over! :-) Can 'N' bodies swim?

You should have given me a shout, Gavin. I could have got the canoeing lads down.

Not sure they could do a 'wet exit' with grass tickling their noses!

I was at Walthamstow on Saturday and a comment by one of the players as the game finished 'We might as well have been playing on Hackney Marshes'. I can now honestly tell him that Walthamstow was like the Sahara compared with Hackney Marshes. Well maybe not the Sahara but the mud was not as deep as Hackney and I can show him the picture to prove it :-)

Hi Darren...

Fortunately it was a booked job, so didn't need to worry about usage. However, it seems that three of the photos (from this selection: www.tgsphoto.co.uk/VP_031206 (external link)) ran in the two East London papers Ishoot for... not seen them yet, but will pick up copies at the weekend. I'll post up a tearsheet if they've done anything 'interesting' with them

We got rained out 3 weekends this summer and fall. The kids were sad, but I wasn't. You are brave to put your camera over a puddle. I don't know. The kids never seem to mind the mud. :)

Gavin,

The link does not work. Do you regually send images to editors/newspapers on the off chance?

Hi Darren...

Link seems to be OK... but rest assured you're not missing much if you can't see the other pics.

I don't send much out on spec in all honesty. If I do, I try to target it fairly carefully rather than just clog up editors' in-boxes.

Link works now, strange, don't know what happened.

I try and avoid sending out images unless I have agreed prior to the event as I know how fustrating it is.

The iced over pic might be forthcoming... unless global warming has something to say about it

A little bit deeper and I might have taken you up on that ;)

Well...you did ask... the shot I posted above was used (fairly small) in one of the relevant papers. However, it must have been a quiet week on the football front as the other paper had a bit more room to fill up...
