U.S. Park Police Medevac landing at Maryland Shock/Trauma

Dug this one up doing a search of 'Maryland'. Great capture, needs a little straightening. Amazed at the lack of comments.

Though, are you sure this is also classified a Medevac bird?

Got a med vac ride once... cost me 6k and I was unconscious to bad it wasn't a sight seeing flight

Most MedEvac in Maryland is done by the Maryland State Police flying Eurocopter AS365N3 Dauphin helicopters (Trooper One thru Trooper Eight). The United State Park Police (posted here) also provide MedEvac, primarily to federal park lands in Maryland, with 3 helicopters, Eagle 1, Eagle 2,and Eagle 3. The helicopter pictured here is a Bell 412. Both agencies have their aircraft set up for multi-mission use; medical interiors, paramedic staffing, hoist capability, NightSun, and foward-looking infrared.

The Maryland State Police was the first agency in the nation to provide helicopter medevac service, and between the two agencies the state of Maryland has possibly the best medevac system in the United States. The MSP typically transports over 5,000 patients per year and provides their service free of charge.

Yeah, the MSP Dauphine's are bad-a$$ birds. Our Shock/Trauma and Medevac system in MD is, as you said amazingly efficient. Baltimore's murder rate would be WAY higher than it is if we didn't save so many people with our system.

The Troopers bring us a lot of work. They're always solid pros to work with.

Back in the day when I was a career medic in Maryland I was lucky enough to fly on 4 Medevac flights with Trpr 4,6(twice),and7 as a second care provider.

Love the extra photo Adam, and the two from MdMedic! I've been trying to get some good emergency response imagery for some time, good news is that around here there haven't been many emergencies, bad news, no photos. Though, I keep the scanner on when I can.
