If I had a chance to get a Canon 28-70 used instead of a Tamron 28-75 new, should I?

(Excellent condition, complete w/hood, lens caps & case, scratches visivle, but "glass-part" has alway been protected by UV filter. No warranty.)

The series of lenses that Canon made (the 2.8L) totally rocks! I would have jumped on it, as I have the other two models that is the same age, totally rocks!

It really depends on what the price difference is, but if money was not an issue then, yes, I get the 28-70L.
