oh well!

You could have gotten 1gb for cheap on Black Friday...

I personally use SanDisk Ultra II's. Theres debate between Ultras and Extremes, but for what I photograph (family, friends, events, gatherings-at least for now), I am ok with the Ultras. Personal choice, I wouldnt buy any other brand than SanDisk. Some beg to differ...

I use a series of 512's, you have to change cards more often but the benifits are that you don't loose heaps of photos when the card malfunctions which they do more than we hope, plus if you are away a 512 card will fit onto a CD instead of having to get 2 or more CD's and finding someone elses photo's on the second disc. Isn't there only 4 card manufacturers, so they all must be pretty much the same.

I guess I choose SanDisk because although I havent tried any other brands, I have heard that eBay sells some cheap, fake/counterfeit cf cards. See some of the posts in this forum re: new to photography. To be exact, the thread was about a week ago titled "I need some info on the xt..." OP by tha_23_greatest.

I have heard of others like Lexar, and suppose they would be ok, but I am just sticking to what I like. You will too!:)
