Hi,

in early january im going on a cruise, we will be making three day long stops and i am after anyone who has shot landscape at any of the following islands/ports for some tips on where/what to shoot, it must be accessible in less than an hour trip each way as i dont intend to being left behind lol.

the port's/island's are

Noumea, New Caledonia 3PM 11PM
Lifou, Loyalty Islands - 9AM 5PM
Vila, Vanuatu - 8am - 5pm

i have added times so you know when i can shoot (what light is available)

thanks for any tip's/locations.

gee dave, i am going on the same cruise, but at the end of january! can't help with your question, i have been mulling myself what to take, and i think i will just take my s2 with me. It is small and compact and takes good photos. too much hassle with the 400, but i guess if i was to take it, i would only take the 10-22, and the 70-300, as that lens is rarely off my camera. will see what i decide as the time comes.

Dave, I've never been but doesn't Vanuatu have an active volcano. Having been to Hawaii and seen Kilauea close up, I would try and get to any active volcano personally. Enjoy the trip.
