My brother sent me this link from Darby Sawchuck's web pages. It's a simple technique to remove people (or other moving objects) from photos using PS (or other image editing software.)

I was in Gettysburg, and I wanted to get a shot of a doorway and all these people were in the way, so I sent mjy dad out to tell them his little girl wanted to get a pretty picture.

Works like a charm.

That may work for you, Danielle, but for the rest of us old codgers, PS will have to do. :)

The other tactic (assuming you have a tripod with you) is to stick ND filters on the front, stop right down and take a long exposure (several seconds). Pick a time when nobody is standing still and they won't show up. This is also useful for shooting 'empty' streets as it can remove traffic quite easily.
