Nice gallery on the link, Moppie. My Dad was a great photographer with his 1/2 frame camera. I don't have a single copy of anything he has. They disappeared. :(

That is such a shame, I do hope you manage to find them one day.
I think sometime we get so wrapped up in the artistic and technical side of photography we forget that a simple photograph can also be a powerful memory.
My Uncle occasionally reads these forums, I'm sure he'll see your nice words too :)

So long and thanks for all the flash

We are going to my oldest daughters house. All my Daughters and Grandkids will be there. Great fun and I am realy looking forward to it. We are going to Omaha to sped wome time with my inlaws also during the week after Christmas. I have some time off so it will be fun. Hopefully we get some snow soon so everything does not look so dead.

Thanks, Moppie. I have so many pictures printed of each child, my children will always have many copies of their pictures growing up. I have spent more on copies than on toys, I think.

In my family there are actually very few pictures from my childhood - nothing like the quantity I took with my film cameras, and as for digital...remember those 110 Kodak instamatics? Half the shots I ever took had my thumb across the lens...and i had a funny little AGFA that took a flash cube like a block of ice, and each cube gave 4 flashes then you threw it out.

My grandmother has a fair few of the family pictures in her albums, and they are great to look through, they go back about 75 years. The scariest things in that album are my taste in 80's clothes and hairstyles  Talk about big hair and weird shirts...

Christmas always has really happy memories for me - it has always been a time of joy and introspection,. I love spoiling my loved ones, especially the small loved ones, and I love the fellowship. It also usually involves a long journey in winter time, that always leaves me feeling excited, as we are all going on an expedition to a special destination.

Sari's Christmas seems wonderful, I hope it is everything you could wish for. And Suzy's family Christmas should be a special time with all your family together again . Keiffer, I hope things work out for you and your son. I can't imagine how hard it must be.

above all, i hope everyone has a special time, in whatever way, and that 2007 brings happiness and prosperity.

Well, I believe my sister and her Greek fiance will be visiting. Which is always fun, because his accent is so cool, and they always give me good stuff for Christmas. My other sister will be picked up from college tomorrow by my mother(who works at the college she goes to). My youngest sister will be here as always. I don't believe anyone is getting an animal for Christmas or anything insanely super cool.(four wheelers or a golden retriever) I know I'm getting a new Nintendo DS(white) and some fly games. Probably some clothes, like always. They'll be nice clothes, but my sisters will get cooler clothes because they went out with my mom for Black Friday. I step-father will probably get a piece of farmign equipment, my mom will get some extravegant large present, so will my little sister. I'm also getting the 50 1.8. I'll probably get some semi-large surprise gift from my mom that I didn't expect, but not as big as my younger sister's present because she's hard to shop for, so we just get her a lot of exsensive gifts.

Oh man, my dad and I found a huge box of them and tried to short circuit them so you could get one super bright flash out of it and it dies. They were inredibly bright. It was like burning magnesium. Crazy.

I'll be helping my mother with her recovery. She's having a mastectomy on the 18th. We're keeping Christmas low key this year.

Liza, I hope your mother does well. I had some larger than really small ones removed 4 years ago and I was fine, but the idea of a mastectomy looms always. So, please, take care of her and I know I was grateful there is modern medicine to help take care of such things now. She may be in pain after the surgery, but a nice warm bed is so nice. :)

Maureen, great tree. Haven't gotten ours up quite yet. The kids made a mess in the room again so that's going to have to wait, again. :(

Liza, all the best wishes to your mother, and of course your family as a whole. there will be time for celebration when she is well. It is so stressful to deal with serious illness, but with luck and good care, I'm sure she will be just fine.
