Ooh, Peter finally came up with a good theme for his contests... ;)

And he has a big red L as an avatar. Peter, didn't know you're trying to take your driver's license.. :)

i will play with 2 images. the first one was taken in Israel on the road to the Dead Sea. when i was a kid, we used to drive down there all the time to visit the family and we always used to stop at this spot and just look at the desert.

Those are great. An olive tree on the second shot , no doubt.....olive groves are a very big and a very old thing in the Mediterranean.

Mike, the key words are "the place which brings back memories..", i.e., does not have to be the very place where you grew up.

I know Peter but as I stated there isn't much here that reminds me of my childhood. However, I will think about it longer and try to come up with something, just for you.;)

My childhood's path to the lake shore, here pictured with my mom and nephew. Those summer days were always sunny and full of birds, butterflies and blossom.

As my grandfather taught me the joys of playground swings, I now have the fun and pleasure of passing this skill on to my grandson, Joe.

Photographed by my wife using my dRebel XT and the excellent Canon 10-22MM EF-S, 20MM and f/9.

Well this is a scan of a slide taken in 1976 on the beach where we used to go for holidays when I was a kid, Rhosneigr beach in Anglesey, North Wales... 3 weeks camping every summer for 3 years....

Not exactly a photographic masterpiece, but memories nevertheless...

Very fine submissions so far, right on the money !
Last two entries by Jim and Al are laden with meaning and yet so simple.

Thanks Sari and Dan. I forgot to mention that this was taken 10 years ago. There is a big print of this on the wall of my parents home.

Petkal,

Forgive me for two posts but, given the Season, I just had to share this one.

This is me at age six, my younger brother at age five, and and my older sister at age eight. This was Christmas 1950 and was made at Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, GA. My brother sent this to me about ten Christmas' ago and I have treasured it ever since. So all you parents out there some day your kids will treasure their picture with Santa as I do this one :)
