Cloning the shoes black really helps the shot a lot and makes it work a lot better.
In the original, the shoes would have caused me to "hide it away".

I would have pulled them out from the wall a bit. The stark white of the wall emphasizes the lines of the shadows. Maybe now that the shoes are fixed make it a b/w shot? You could try it.
