Bump to subscribe. Looking to get this lens to compliment the New Tammy 70-30VC. Thoughts?

Actor...This lens, either the one with the flower or the one labeled MACRO, is a very nice lens and would be a good complement to your Tammy...esp. as a 28-70 F:4 with 70-105 as a nice overlapping bonus...

Thanks kitacanon! I'll keep an eye out for one. Hopefully I can find one soon. Would love to see some sports or concert shots with this lens.

Keep in mind that we're talking about the 3.5-4.5 EF with metal mount, not the later plastic mount cheapie...okay?

As for sports/concert shooting...I'd think it'd be a bit short...the 70-210/3.5-4.5EF sister lens might be better...but you know your shooting situations...

Nice to see this thread alive and moving. When I had mine it made a great studio lens. It produced some wonderful and tack sharp images.

Thorrulz you have any older shots with this lens? Does anyone use the lens hood with this lens? I bought it without one. If anything I' could get the china cheap import ones.

I use a standard rubber collapsing hood...on the 30D, not 35mm sensor...I don't know if it would vignette on the full frame sensor.

I only have the 30D, so I guess I'll get one. Thanks.

Any difference between the first EF 28-105mm 1:3.5-4.5 USM and and II?

I think V.II has more aperture leaves/blades (7 vs 5) for more pleasing bokeh to some, if that matters...

Thanks, well I re-looked and I bought I instead of the II. Oh well as long as it's sharp, hopefully. I hate when they group stuff together on ebay, errrrr.
