Its a cool feature, but hardly worht the price and isn't that stable. I'd much rather have a sturdier rig that takes a couple extra seconds to put up. Photographic Resources

Sturdier than the 486 by a bit, and has a separate pan control so you're not trying to pan while keeping the ball head from flopping over. I use a 486 on monopods or when weight's critical. Jon
