What can I do better?

I am not a big fan of BW and wondering how the first one would look in color. In the second one, everything is too centered.


Canon 20D, 10-22, 24-70L,70-200L f/2.8 IS, 580 EX, RS-80N3, EP-EX15, BG-E2, E1.

I don't like #1 too much - the sun is really bright and blows everything out...
