Ok, Ronnie got a new camera body. Being the unofficial POTN book maker, it is my duty to let every one know that I am hosting a pool to for when he sells it. Squares are $10 usd and basically unlimited. You must give date (day, month and year plus time for tie possibilities). All bets must be placed by new years Pacific STD time. If sold before then, all bets are off. If interested, place an additional $10 and name the camera body he will buy.

LOL, this is just good ole Ronnie Busting folks. But if you want to send me $10 PM me. LMFAO. Hope you enjoy your new toy for a spell Ronald!!

alright, here is my bet. he is getting his 1DmkIIn today so i am saying:

1/07/07 he sells that tamron 28-75 he bought
1/12/07 he sells the 1D
1/14/07 he picks up his 12th 24-70

as for the body, i am betting that he will pick up a 30D with either a bigma or a 300 f4IS.

1/5/07 - high noon pst.

New camera, 5D again.
Blonde's already got it down right for the whole tamron to canon 24-70 business so I won't repeat it.

Well, its a sure thing I agree. Its statistically a "peak" month for Ron. So many holidays, so many catalogues!

Seriously -news maybe a bit slow here in the sticks- what has Ron brought/sold besides what he posted Monday or Tuesday:

"1DMkIIN- $3100
(2) 2GB Ultra II SD- $80
Tamron 28-75 2.8XR Di- $289
85mm f/1.8 w/hood- $375
Extra NP-E3- $125
E1 handstrap- $21
Oakley Thumps for while I'm shooting- $65

Total- Technically, $4055."

So he hasn't updated his gearlist for 48 hours or so and we are clueless really. I wanna be up to the minute before figuring the odds.

wouldn't it be cool if we had a function to be notified by email every time his gear list changes (of course that would mean that we will all need to upgrade our email accounts to at least 10gb of storage..)

A TAMRON? A Canon EF 24-70/2.8 owner downgrades to a TAMRON?

Someone get the medics quick...

Permagrin and I were remarking about the nature of the universe, equilibrium, equality, and Dante's return to the 1DsM2, and yet how despite that, the forum did not quite seem 'right'.

It seems that the Tamron may yield some insight into the nature of this disturbance in the Force..... ;) the only thing more disturbing would be say, his crossgrade to the 24-105 ISL. Or, ME buying a Tamron. Now that would really throw me for a loop.

He has done it before but I would consider it an upgrade.;)

I'll tell you right now...the Tamron isn't staying. It's just all I can afford at the moment. We'll see how she works, though.

As for the MKIIN, I'm hoping I really like it. Who knows, though. I'm sure I'll be selling it someday...it's just my nature. I think I'm gonna really like it, though. I was excited about getting my 1DMkII back when, and it was alright, but I was very disappointed in the ISO performance...it seemed worse than the 20D/30D, which I thought was surprising. I also disliked going back to that teeny screen. Just didn't feel right. The MKIIN has a lot of the things I've long since wanted in a camera. We'll see how long it "wows" me. This is the body I've wanted all along, so I imagine I'll really like it. I couldn't afford it, though. Look at it this way...there's nothing to move up to. Should be the end of body switching.

The 12th 24-70L will come to me, though.
