My 1DMk2 is set for continuous numbering, and shows Folder 100, File 1951. That sure sounds like a lot to me. Do you all think I should dump it and buy Ronald's Mk2N? My Mk2 looks like new, but all those shutter actuations.....:rolleyes: I should probably unload it before it dies.

you should go for it Tom. not only can you get a lower shutter count but you will also get a camera that is 100 times better than the one you have right now. the upgrades to the N model were substantial and the difference is quite clear. you can now have bigger buffer , bigger screen, pics style etc.. all are critical for any serious shooting..

Would that be 101,951 clicks? My sweet jesus...how long you had that? Is that (obviously) your most used body, then?

Remember, Tom...the 2-day shipping and 2gig SD are only good until midnight.

Wait wait...mine says 100 7069. It only has 7069, though. Wouldn't yours only have 1,951?

Glad to see you haven't lost your religion, Ronald. Actually, that's the shot count on my Super 10D (1DsMk2). The 1Dmk2 has almost 6100 shutter actuation.

Either way, the fact remains. I'm not taking enough pictures.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

On the EXIF reader file, there are two numbers that matter: number of actuations and number of resets....each reset takes place around 65,000 clicks, if I remember right. If one does not take the number of resets into account, one is kinda in a position of buying a car with the odometer spun back.
For example if EXIF reset number is "2" and EXIF number of actuations is 10,000, that camera has been clicked about 140,000 times.
Additionally, some servicing of the 1 series cameras by Canon involves a complete reset of the shutter operations count.

Well, Tom, you obviously don't need my camera, then. You've got enough to keep you busy.

Everytime I get to 9999, I manually reset it back to 100-0001 and keep a log of how many times I have hit 10,000, not dead on accurate, but close

They probably figure you won't care, since you can get the count from CanCount, eh?

Just to be a good guy, I'm gonna give those viewing this thread first stab at my N. If no one wants it by tomorrow morning (posted or PMed), I'm gonna post it up for sale. Anyone remember me saying I had senior pictures to do? Well the girl I did them for loved hers, and a few of her friends want theirs done, too now. My 580 isn't cutting it, and I'd like to get a minimal bees setup so I can do them week after next.

Just a friendly warning, that's all.

 Honestly, I couldn't accept the brick. I'd end up selling it anyway, because like I said, I can't afford to keep one at the moment. That'd hurt way more than having you keep it. At least then I have a chance of owning it again someday. :p Come on, Dan. Cough up the cash. You know you want it! How's this, Dan. Just for you: 1DMkIIN, perfect condition, extra battery, and 2gig card- $3100 shipped. Come on...hundred bucks off!

I'm thinking I need to pass on this one...I will probably upgrade my Ds before I spring for another mk2n.
