The 12th 24-70? Uhh.... have I been sleeping too long?

Understand the part about the interim 28-75 though.

Not a 5D. No it will be a Rebel XTi. (or maybe a Nikon DSX or whatever they call that crapola pro body)

I only hope though it isnt the last one he can "upgrade" to which is the Canon 1Ds MKII because that is something not even I would keep very long if I had one because of how much they cost even used.

Sure that equals about 1 24-70 L every month he has been at POTN. In only like 15 months he's gone from a Rebel XT to a Canon 1D MKII with about 9 other bodies in between.

How do you do it Ronald? I can't swing deals like that even if I wanted to but I sure want a 1D MKII N.

The only thing I do know is they can pry my 20D from my cold dead fingers because for me having that Camera was my dream for so long that I wont ever sell it.

Sounds like my 350D and 17-85. You never forget your first SLR.

The 1DsMkII is so totally not worth the money to me. It's a 1DMKII with FF and half the frame rate. I'd pay no more for it than I would the N, and I don't think it's worth any more. It just seems really outdated, and reading Canon's page on it felt like reading about the 10D...it needs a successor. It's getting to the point where it costs way more than its worth. To anyone..I'd think.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that'd be an upgrade right now from a MKIIN would be like an HD39 or similar. The 1DsMKII just seems...idk...like a ripoff.

Yeah.. I am not that impressed with the 1DsM2 despite having been influenced heavily by my 1D. Still like the 5D. :)

I'm totally in, Dante!

Given the shipping fiasco, I'm going to say 01/05/07 2:34 pm EST.

Brick #12 will come in January, but alas, will be gone by Valentine's Day. #13 will be here just in time for Easter, however.

Nah my first SLR was was a Canon Rebel G, the first one. I bought it used for a steal :) only $350 bucks! And it sucked, it had a plastic mount, slower the slow AF and best of all my favorite of Canon cameras big giant Lithium batteries that were hard to find and cost $22 each and were good for like 300 pictures.

Well don't worry I bet 2007 will see a more affordable 2Ds MKI, with same amount of MP as the 1Ds MKII but everything else as fast as their current fastest dSLR. Then there is always Hasselblad, Mamyia or maybe even Leica for you ;)

Personally if I could afford it, or got stupid one night with Credit Cards I would totally buy either a 1D MKII, 1D MKII N or either 1Ds cameras. But something about spending 1 months pay on a camera does not seem worth it to me.

Don't think I haven't thought about that M8...I just plain straight can't afford that stuff, though. The camera I could squeeze out, but I'd hardly be able to afford a stinkin' lens!

Yeah that is true. I think everyone who has seen those cameras on the back of Pop photo or Shutterbug have at least wondered what it would be like shooting with a Rolls Royce.

Got my B&H Paper catalog and MAN O MAN! The lenses for those things cost as much or more then a high end Canon Camera. Ouch and I aint talking about a 500 or 600mm lens.

No kidding...put the value of every lens in my signature together, and you could probably afford the 21 distagon or the 50 noctilux. maybe the 35, too.

Edit: Forget that...I'd have to sell the N, too, just to afford the 21.
