No NR on either image. If you look at the background of the 20D image...you can see some fine grain noise...if you look at similar areas of the mk2n image, you will notice giant gobs of noise on the buildings.

You do have a brighter background in the second image though. The other is darker. So it kinda makes it hard to compare accurately.

Yes....I know...let me see if I can find one from the same setting that has a similar exposure...the noise is still there.

I don't doubt you. I just think those two photos aren't the best example. :)

Having the 1DsMkII in his signature is just a security blanket. I also heard he printed a full size picture of that body and cut out the middle and affixed it on one of his lenses just so he wouldn't have to use his inhaler as much.

Dante, there's no "link". It's just not worth it to me. I've never liked it.

well can you tell me where you saw this info, or should I just drop the subject?

LOL...which part are you talking about?

If you're talking about me saying that the 1DsMkII isn't worth it to me, well I never told you I had "info", other than that it simply isn't. In my opinion, there isn't a single thing better with the 1DsMKII than the 1DMKIIN. If there is, you let me know, big daddy. Gimme something that makes it worth more than twice the price.

20D better than MkIIN? That's pretty bass ackwards, if you ask me.

Whoa Hold yer horses buddy. Knocking the 20D? Them's fighting words.

Besides didn't you own 2X 20D longer then any of your other cameras? Must have been something that appealed to you about them before you won the lottery and bought every lens, and camera body ever made for Canon except of course the monsters.

Yep, they were cheap and they worked. That's why I kept them. I needed two cameras, needed better ISO performance than the XT, and they fit the bill, on a budget. I'm not knocking the 20D. It's a fine camera and it gets the job done.

I'll also add that I never spent a penny on upgrades. I simply seek out the deals..

...and the suckers. 8) :p

care to explain this sentence? so when you traded from an XT to a 20D and from a 30D to 5D, you never spent a penny?

tchah...I'm sure his "never spent a penny" was metaphorical for "I spent a whole lot of greenbacks instead!"

Correct, sir. I never said it was straight body for body, sometimes I traded a body and a lens, or what not, but never did I spend any amount of money upgrading. I wait for exceptional deals that are too good to pass up, and I sweet talk my way into a trade/sale that's undoubtedly in my favor. As I said before, my mom's dell account bought my first set of gear. This consisted of:

XT
grip
2 580's
8gigs of Ultra II's
bogen 3001 with 3265
50 1.4
100 2.8 macro
100-400L
kit lens
28-135 IS

Then she bought elsewhere (not available at Dell):
light stands/brackets/umbrellas
ST-E2
backdrops
70-200L IS
35L (a few months later)
XPS desktop
Custom Bracket

Now...as you can see, this would add up to quite some money. Anyway, leaving out the middle, these things have been traded, sold, and so on, and I've ended up with what you see in my signature, without spending any amount of money whatsoever. I'll add that contrary to what some have said, I do have each and every thing below in my physical posession. None "in the mail" or what not. I will also add that my 580, 70-200L IS, 35L, Ultra II's, and XPS have never left my posession.

The end.

P.S. The Sigma 20 1.8 is actually my father's, but he doesn't care for it, so it's assumed its position on my shelf.

Well, Snir mah bo', like it or not, it is simply very helpful to have well to do relatives and family members who are sympathetic to our collecting needs.
For example, Aerosmith and I are both kept men......not having spent a penny of our own money, the generosity of our wives has helped us acquire a half-decent gear collection. As a further example, you might remember that Calicocat got both the 300 f/2.8 and the 400 f/5.6 as birthday presents.

Granted, some collectors have had to work very hard for their gear. Belmondo is such an example. I understand he spent much of his working career toiling on American railroad tracks.
