I think I need new glass

After a full lifetime (well, almost 40 years now) of perfect eyesight, I'm finding myself gradually finding it hard to read printed word. Last night, when I was on the throne, I was finding it very hard to read the small print of my history book in the somewhat subdued lighting. I'm also finding that I don't have much of an attention span when I'm reading other books as well - I have to admit that I can't read writing at a distance I could do easily several years ago.

So, I guess I'll have to go in for a sight test (never found I needed to do once since I had the mandatory one at school).

It's a strange feeling, I've always taken my good eyesight so much for granted, never really thought that it might start failing me.

Yeah, I'm getting there too. I think it must be an artefact of old age.

yep..y'all have lived your whole lives seeing perfectly and i've had spectacles on my nose since elementary school... .... No, go. eye doctors are nice guys.. Aside from the part where they dialate your eyes I like them. and glasses can be entertaining change your look up. I've heard they make you look smarter.. not sure if I believe that. But, mostly it's about your vision trust me when you put them on and everything gets sharper and brighter you will really, really like it and wonder why it took you soo long..

I use both contact lenses and magnifier glasses. I think I'm going to request bifocal contact lenses at my next appointment with the eye doctor.

As photographers, by nature or by training we tend to visualize everything. Now I'm gonna have nightmares for a week. Ought to be a law against descriptions of matters of a personal nature.

I've worn glasses (and for a while, contact lenses) practically my whole life. My prescription has changed again and it's time for me to head to the eye doctor for new glasses. I think this time it'll be bifocals. It sucks getting older.

It's like a curse, as soon as you hit 40 you end up fighting with your eyes. I have always been nearsighted, but now it's also that time when I need reading glasses as I can't focus on a certain distance anymore. The older we get, the more light we need and reading glasses. It sucks to be old!

LOL . After seeing perfectly for years, I now wear glasses every moment I am awake. The glasses are on my nightstand when I fall asleep and is the first thing I grab when I get up. Get used to it. I got my first pair in college just for reading. About 3 years ago, I couldn't take it anymore. I got bifocals! Yes, that's me! And I don't regret it. Better to wear glasses and see than to be blind and squinting all the time. I actually can't see fine print anymore without them, even squinting.

GO to the eye doctor! It's not the end of the world.
