I have done this with my Epson flat bed scanner which has a 35 mm holder and back light. Results were good enough. Here is the link to B&H: POTN Book Vol4 Astronomy Image Manager and BC Member

Thanks, I actually meant a gizmo that is used on camera, as all my money went on the 30D, I was going to buy a filmscanner but only have about 600 slides, and it would sit idle after archiving them as I am into Digital pictures now Canon 30D with 18/55mm,Kerso 50mm 1.8 Canon 135mm f/2.8 s/f.

But on-camera slide copiers are all set up for film-to-film operation, and work at a fixed 1:1 ratio or actually allow you to zoom in. You'd only get part of your slide/negative with the 30D that way. If you buy the scanner, you can always sell it when you've finished all your slides. Jon

The results were good enough for web display, but if I wanted to make a print I would still have it professionally scanned.

Many, like mine, allow community members to use their equipment. It's a simple alternative and an easy way to get access to a high quality, dedicated slide scanner. Dave
