Prior to the last few weeks, I had been shooting with my 300d and had been very limited to how many keepers I got because of the lack of servo and picture quality at high ISO. After having my 300d die thanksgiving week, I took the next big step and bought a 30d. I'm just amazed at how much this camera has helped my pictures. There's still quite a few blurry and badly composed shots, but those are simply errors by the photographer. I guess its a double edged sword though because I cant blame my shortcomings on my equipment anymore. hehe Regardless, I feel this is my best set of pics from a single game. Sadly, none of them are going to hit the prints because we dont produce a paper during finals week.

Well done, for a first try, these are top notch. My first time was nothing like this!! I would be very happy if I were you.

Yes sir. 30d and 70-200mm f/2.8 at 1/500, f/2.8, and 1600 ISO. Thanks you two for the comments.

damn... your gyms are better lighted up in division 1... ever though about using 85 1.8 in addition to 70-200? it's a beast of a lens (in a small package)

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I beleive I did. I saw 3 photographers who we traded places with at half who I assumed were Michigan press. It was a pretty packed game. ESPN U was broadcasting it.

If you can spring for it the 135mm 2.0 L will blow your doors off. That is my 70-200 replacement.
