One technique I use with children is to tell them they can be goofy for the first few shots and then they have to give me some non-goofy shots. Usually works because they always want to act silly and then see themselves in the LCD viewer.

Happy Holidays!

I sometimes say something really gross, but usually something very silly will work best. I never have trouble with my boys now. They know where I'm coming from. "SMILE, or ELSE!"

How do you like this smile and teeth?

I understand the problem. The only way I could get my 1 year old granddaughter to sit still for a Christmas photo was to give her my cell phone. Then the problem was trying to get her to look up. Oh well, maybe next year...

Maureen, your little grandson is really adorable. He's still got that innocent sweetness thing going for him. Enjoy it! Once they start losing their cute teeth, they start looking pretty sad. ;)

Oh he is such a cutie! Love these. They will make a great addition to your sideshow if you make one! :) I think you have a couple of keepers for your cards... I always do a session for the kiddos I care for... it's my annual Christmas gift to their parents... What works for me is to push the coffee table over to the Christmas tree..... Cover it with a soft blanket and have the little ones to sit down on top of the table... provide plastic ornaments that look like glass balls.... camera on tripod so you can communicate with the special little people, and shoot away.... works everytime. I got some awesome shots of 10 months to 4 years this year. :)

Your little guy is soooo adorable.... Love them!

LOL! I like the first one! It would make a great funny card! :) All you need is a funny lil line like "IT IS CHRISTMAS AGAIN!?!"

Definitely needs more punch: Brightness and Contrast up to +20 each (watch the flare points). It makes a significant difference with the great saturated colors.

Skin tone seems to have a slight reddish cast in the midtones/highlights.

Gosh, is this thread still going around? Ha ha.... I ended up using something completely different for the Christmas card.
Suzie: I love the missing teeth photos of your son. My fave photo of my son is without his 2 front teeth.
R/C: I haven't done much editing on the photos because they aren't going to be used for anything. Thanks for the tips:)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thanks for the comments....he is at that "little stinker" stage. Most of the time he was bending over and giving me the fanny pose;);)

As the mother of a 14 year old and an 11 year old, I must tell you that it doesn't get any better as they get older!

Nice job with the images.
