The gyms ceiling is to high to bounce, and I am using a 2.8 lens, I do not like shooting a high ISO due to the noise, even though I have noise ninja.

RDM3... I think you would be surprised. If you are at 1/2 power, and you are lighting the fans in the backgound, I really think you need to look at bouncing. Particularly if you are using a sb800. It should be able to handle near court stuff bounced. That is unless the ceiling is some super dark color. But you will get a lot smoother and more natural lighting. Give it a whirl... who knows. I agree with ya on the noise stuff... way over used. It always kills the chroma and softens the image. If I can avoid it... I always do.

4x4... these look pretty good considering it was your first date with this lens. It takes a little to get to know how she will work for you, even if it is one of the friendliest lenses out there. My only comment is watch you horizon lines. Your first shot has a real obvious horizon line in it and it just needs a degree or two tweak. It will make more of a difference then you think. Other wise... cool stuff. Cheers.

psurrette, thanks for the explaination. I'll keep this in mind and will try it at the next game.

Mark, Thanks for the comments. I think the speed of the game caught me by surprise. It was much faster than I expected especially the action happened right in front of you.

Hopefully I'll do better next time around. The season is still young :)
