I want to create a blog for all of my recent stuff but I'm not sure of which software to use for this. I am using iweb for web viewing and they have a blog page but it's sort of limited. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for the advice :)

I'd second blogspot. Haven't updated it in a while, but its easy to use and many many use it.

Well.. I use Livejournal and Semagic (a program you can find linked to on the LJ website or just google it) to post - I link to my Flickr shots from there and it's all pretty streamlined and easy.

I also use blogger. Do you use a PC? The photo browsing software called Picasa2 (for PC) has a built-in blogger interface. It's really slick. Just choose your photos you want to post on your blog... click the "blog" button and type your message!

It resizes, uploads, and embeds your photos onto your blog post automatically. All you do is type the text/blather in. IT's so easy, painless, and so fast that way.

For those people who do blog on/linked from their professional website, do you think it's worthwhile? My current website is a little impersonal, i'm thinking that doing a blog might be a good way to add a bit of flavor. It'd also give customers a "first look" at their images without me having to set up a separate gallery for them.

Does it take you all much time? Do you consider it time well spent?

110% worthwhile. My clients check it out all the time. It's a way I can keep them updated on what's going on with me and my biz. It makes them feel a little more connected w/out getting too personal. And I have gotten emails from regular readers - past or future clients - who will contact me on Tuesday and say "you haven't blogged your last wedding yet - did you have one?"

It's not a lot of work once you get into the habit of it - but it is a habit you need to develop.

I'm a LiveJournal (external link) user as well.

Been there for about a year and a half. Their free account is pretty well loaded with features and has a pay account with a bit more as well.

Thanks for looking!

Yo Tim, it's totally worth it. I have gotten many bookings just because of what's sitting on my blog. I only started it in september and it's made a huge impact already. I totally wasn't convinced but I was almost bullied into making one... and I am glad I did.

If you use something like picasa to use blogger, it's VERY easy, and VERY quick. I can put up a 4 picture blog entry in less than 4 minutes!
