Pictures from last nights Girls Varsity Basketball game. The home team (Kings Fork) dominated the game with scrappy play and accurate shooting. Comments appreciated.

Pictures taken in manual with either a 85 f/1.8 or a 135 f/2.

Nice shots. I empathize with the defender in the second one: "where the hell's my backside help?"

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

looks oversoftened to me... a bit of noise isn't bad, when shall people realize that?

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Merciez, good shots over all, Stay away from the flash, will get you in trouble with players or coaches(ie could see him coach the photog flash blinded me). I cover 10 schools sports programs for out local paper and some of these gyms are horrible. My settings are as follows Shutter priority set at 350, shooting an 135mm 2.0 for court shots. Under the basket and with breakaway layups and dunks a 24-70 F2.8. My Iso is between 800 and 1000 depends on lighting quality and I shot everything in raw format. check out my website for samples

Thanks for the comments. No flash used. Shot with an iso of 1600 and F2.2 for most of the shots with a SS of 500.

Still learning on this one. Used Noise ninjas default settings. I am still yet to develope an eye that catches the difference from being just correct to being oversoftened.

My biggest struggle right now is getting the photos crisp and not slightly ouf of focus.

Thanks again for the help.

Love the levitation in #2! It's not my imagination, no feet are touching the ground right?

Really nice shots. Did you set up in the corner/baseline for all of them?

Hey - these look great. One little tip, try going in and upping the blue value by a between 5 and 10. This will cut the green tint from the darker complected players. Shot 1 looks great, shot 2 has a bit of green cast to it. It's a nit. Other then that... very cool shots. Cheers.

Yes. I was setup where the 3-point line intersects with the baseline.

Thanks for the color tip Croasdail. I will try that next time.
