Hi there,

I'm new to photography and the forums ... i've just gotten an A630 ... i'm looking at all your photos in galleries and they look awesome (and looks like most folks using those $$$ SLR's!) ... can i get good shots with my lowly 630?

Cheers all,

-Rob

Hey Rob-

Welcome to P.O.T.N. !!

I read yesterday that the Tech reviewer for the NY Times gave the A630 high marks so you've got yourself a capable tool for photography and as you're likely to read repeatedly here, it is the user not the tool that determines quality photography...so go out and snap away. When you capture something that you like, post it here so we can take a peek too. :-)

Best Regards

Steve

The compostition is the most important component of any photo. Have fun and post lots.

Good purchase. Focus on imagination and composition and work within the capabilities of the camera. Hard to tell what camera or camera/lens most shots are taken with below a certain size.

new to this forum, sorry. Just got an A630, love it. However after I take a photo, the 2 or 3 second display on the lcd contains information and the pic. How can I change it to show only the pic?

Try pressing the DISP button. BTW you can also change the 2 second review time (2s is min, you can turn it off or increase it).

I turned it up to 3seconds so if I don't like the image I can quickly erase :)
