Sorry, but this shot doesn't really do much for me with it's OOF BG and a busy FG.
Just to let you know, Toronto is on a lake not a harbour

Hey Frank,

Thanks for your comments and feedback! I do appreciate it ;-)a

BTW...Please read my comments again above...I said this picture contained the "local harbour and piers in the foreground"

I live near Toronto..I know very well what it sits on and which lake it borders ;-)a But thanks again for trying to help!

you're both wrong, it sits by a HARBOR. U crazy guys throwing in the random 'u' :)

Really though, I wonder how it would've come out with the bg as the focal point?? Just a thought.

Hi
Is the shot taken from Toronto Island.
I remember cycling around the island on the boardwalk many years ago.
When I was last in Toronto the lake front area was being expanded. Barges were being sunk and covered with landfill.
Your sky line looks quite different from my last visit. I lived on Lakeshore Blvd West.
Thanks for the memory provoking shot.
Paul

I really like it. The city lost in a foggy haze provides a great backdrop to the rocks and harbour in the foreground. Black and white really suits it, and give an old movie feel.

Had the skyline been clearer I do not think it would have worked as well as it would have over powered the foreground and left me unsure over what I should be focussed on.

Michael.

EXIF is available inside all my photos, though bribes are still recommended anyway.

As a displaced Brit, I'm on your side with the "U"'s :D Although here it is confusing as some people Use the U and some don't, just like the US $ is interchangeable with the B$, on par!

As for the shot, I kind of like the hazy looking background, but on the whole I think it needs a bit more contrast, and perhaps would be better if there were diagonals rather than horizontals all through it. Maybe try it again from a different angle?

Nice shot :) but I cant find something to focus upon ...The BGs out of focus and nothing special in the FG...As Elisabeth has said a different angle might make it something special...
