New 400D and 24-105mm f/4 L IS

Just picked it up late Friday night, had to wait for the battery to charge, then I was out all day yesterday, so I have had to wait until today to really play with it.

First impressions are very positive - I'm loving the freedom it gives me coming from a P&S. The only thing I've noticed is that noise levels at ISO 800 - 1600 are a little higher than I had expected.

Still, all in all a great camera - I've been bitten by the bug, I'll be wanting a 1Ds soon :D

Nice combo (if you like the focal length). I use the 24-105 myself but on full frame.

Many of the 'noiseless' high ISO images you see here have been run through a noise reduction system. Try some of the various software packages around and see which one you like..

Then when the image size is reduced for web display, most of that remaining noise is lost.
