Finally got my camera back from Canon, so went to the mall to take some pics. World's largest mall (West Edmonton Mall), right here in Canada, some of the wacky things you might see.

here a few:

I like those two fountain shots, I'm still wondering why all of this is necessary for a mall, haha.

Isn't the Mall of America in Minneapolis the biggest? Well I couldn't judge. I've only been to West Ed!

Apparently the South China Mall is the largest in the world, bigger than the West Edmonton Mall and the Mall of America combined!

If you get lost in there you might never see the outside world again.

Michael.

Comments, bribes, criticism, bribes, irrelevant anecdotes, and bribes always welcome.
EXIF is available inside all my photos, though bribes are still recommended anyway.

It looks like the Ghermazian brothers haven't been keeping up. Now Edmonton can only lay claim to having the largest mall in North America or even the West.

Mall of Americas? It's only #16 on the list. West Edmonton Mall is #4. :)

It looks more like a theme park than a mall. Still at least it gives you plenty of photo opportunities.

It only has 330 shops (just looked it up) so quite small in comparison to some of those eh! LOL

I don't buy that at all. If they count the actual mall part maybe but WEM has a huge hotel, Largest Indoor waterpark, amuesment park, skating rink, giant theater and huge stores and so much more all within the same building. That China mall doesn't even have a roof, how is that a mall? That is a boardwalk but as far as Indoor shopping mall, West Edmonton Mall is the largest in the world and of that I have no doubt about.

Nice pictures.

Ah, my favourite place to shop!! Took my husband ice skating there a few years ago - first time he'd ever tried it. I had to pick him up a few times:lol:

Love that first shot of the Santa Maria! so they still have the dolphin show?

If we are talking about buildings like those in China with out any roof to contain the mall, then they lose and Manhattan most likely is the worlds largest mall by far.

Well, I grew up playing in Manhattan and spend much of my teenage years hangout there. But here is the difference in your reference to Manhattan, there are a lots of Corporate and Commercial Buildingand not to mention residential buildings in Manhattan which by all means out number retail building. Now if we are to justified what mall should be then you need to exclude any area that are not retail based in WEM. Furthermore nothing was said that the Mall had to be indoor.

that list is pretty interesting!

some of those are cheating though...by connecting seperate malls together
