We all (or our parents) have loads of old prints and slides taken before the digital explosion. While waiting the next Christmas to come, do you like to share some of your old, vintage Christmas pictures?

To have some order, try to find shots taken between Christmas Eve and Boxing day (23 - 26 December), and remember, only scanned (or an old print pictured with digicam ;)) pictures, please. Obviously, the quality of the picture is not the main thing here, but the memories they bring and we share with others.

If you like to add a story with the picture, even better.

Looking forward to see Xmas memories around the world!

My post here is from Christmas Eve 1996. My son liked to be Santa, and what a funny fellow he was. :D In Finland, Santa comes with gifts already on Xmas Eve.

That is cool and what a cool idea for a thread. I don't have photo's that fit unfortunately.

Looks like the kid has got shrink-wrapped entrails for Christmas

Sorry, homme Olli, being into Paganini and all that, our family has never been big on Xmas. Thus I have to pass this cleverly conceived theme of yours.:(

Understand, fellows. Anyhow good to get your comments.

(This theme might be somewhat challenging for paganinians and likes, but there is no need to bend the rules: picture - maybe a duck ;) - taken on film between 24 and 27 Dec, is naturally acceptable. :D)

Hey, why didn't you say so in the first place ! I've got a duck a day system going. Here, a drake all excited on Dec, 25, 2005.
He looks like an angel, right ?

He asks a lot eh? These days film and digital are like prodigal twins ... one lot sits in a box under the bed and the other in a box on the desk. They don't talk, they don't visit, they stand apart like cat and dog

I have ~10000 slides and countless number of negatives waiting to be scanned. Some already processed. That's time-consuming but rewarding exercise.

Here's one more Christmas shot, from 1991. Looks like this Santa has had some extracurriculum activities, mainly visiting all the bars on the way to all the homes.

Yup ... he looks like a pervert. I did Santa once for a load of kids ... never again

I have a good scanner bought 3 years ago but don't think the driver works with XP :(

Ok...here is a really old one :)

This was taken in 1950...that's me at age six next to Santa, my younger brother age five, and my older sister age eight. This was made at Rich's Depertment store in Atlanta, GA...check out the leather jackets and hats :-) We had a family tradition of seeing Santa at Rich's each year as we did our Christmas shopping. What a wonderful time it was...a fun family day for all. My brother sent this picture to me about ten Christmas' ago...it has a treasured spot on the shelf in my study. (Note: I also posted this the other day in Petkal's memories thread).
