In what may be a first for POTN... wired direct from pitch-side (or, in this case, park-side) here is Gascoyne's last gasp winning goal against Wounded Knee:

Is it silly hat day there?!

Nice work, although I'm sure there's a spot of technological showing off there ;)

How did the BB go yesterday?

 'twas a case of killing some time between jobs  Here I am sat in another car park.

As it turned out, I received a call on Saturday morning asking me if I could possibly do Sunday's BB match instead. I could hardly turn down the offer of a night off, especially after a late one with the boxing on Friday ;)

While I'm passing... a couple more from sunny old Victoria Park. A jolly way to pass a Sunday morning:

When does the second runway open at Stansted airport?...

Why do you do Sunday League games Gavin? Is there a demand for them?? And what do they say when a Premier League photographer turns up????!!!!!

 I like to keep my eye in!

In fact, I often enjoy my trips to Hackney Marshes and Victoria Park more than the bigger games... great people and some good action as well... and, of course, variety is the spice of life.

The local rag sponsors the League (one of the oldest and more famous Sunday Leagues in the country) so it gets regular coverage.

Also Hackney doesn't have any senior Saturday football per se (other than adopting Arsenal, Spurs and the Orient from neighbouring boroughs), so the Sunday stuff is, bizarrely, the main footballing action of the weekend.

Can vouch for Hackey Marshes too - played there years ago and its strangely awesome - I believe it holds the world record for the most number of full-sized football pitches in one place (88 of them)!

Not the place to forget which pitch you are on!:D

Steve.

It was a pleasant sunny morning, so I took up residence on a park bench to edit my pics after the game before moving on to the next job

Yep... the Marshes are a unique part of London. I often end up on East Marsh which has a mere 11 pitches, so easy to navigate to the correct game.

When I get a job on the main Marsh, all bets are off... I'll be investing in a golf buggy for next season I reckon ;)

Only 11?!

A golf buggy? Fantastic, have you seen the mini Hummer golf buggies you can get now? I feel that is the direction you should take any buggy purchase!!
