I took this near dark at a local trail that I run. Used 30D and 17-40. I believe that this is the pertinent exif data:
Focal length: 21.0mm (35mm equivalent: 34mm)
Exposure time: 0.0040 s (1/250)
Aperture: f/10.0
ISO equiv.: 400

C&C please be honest Thanks

Neither treatments do anything for me I'm afraid. Both have blown out skies that highlight the contrast between sky and land. Obviously it wasn't the best of days weatherwise, but if you used neutral density filters, then you could balance the brightness of the sky against the land and retained the sky/cloud details for more interest too.

Compositionally, there is no strong element to the photo. What is the main subject? Is it the log, or the barren trees? There could be the makings of a lead-in to the photo through the stream/puddle leading to the log, and perhaps a lower stance when you were taking the photo might have emphasised this. There is also what looks like the edge of a path at the bottom right of the photo, and this could be cloned out.

I hope that this helps. :)
