Nice job - the pan in number 4 is well executed indeed.

Numbers 6 and 8 are also good.

Try and watch that you don't get the course tape creeping into the foreground (2,5,7) as its a little off putting and detracts from the main image.

However overall, good work - I like!:D

Paul, I purposely put those shots in to see if the tape would be an issue. It bothers me the most in # 7. I saw it when chimping and then moved to a position to get it more out of the way but already had several shots with it in there.

At the very least, I wish it wasn't blocking any part of the rider as in # 5.

Live and learn.

Thanks for the comments.

Regards,
Jeff

The normal obstacles on a cyclocross course are the boards and usually some relatively short steep hills they call 'run-ups'(sp?) and they may have a sand pit or water crossing or a mud bog. The obstacles appear to be very much borderline as to whether they could be negotiated on a bike under ideal conditions. This could be used to separate better riders from the pack. Sometimes it may be more advantageous to portage or carry your bike through certain obstacles. The race goes on under whatever conditions present themselves in most cases and that's where a lot of the fun enters.

They seem to be held a lot a parks where the majority of the course is grass (not easy to ride through for long periods) and many short climbs and descents with off camber sections here and there for variety ;).

I have some more shots and some are of different areas of the course. I'll try to post them up later this evening.

Regards,
Jeff

Not to steal the thread, but here are some pictures from a Cyclocross race in Northern Calif this weekend. This had a small touch of sun, a lot of rain and even more mud. While I wondered about my sanity standing out in the rain taking pictures, these guys were even farther off the scale.

I learned that you really need to keep the front of the lens dry if you want in-focus pictures.

Rick
