Well guys I will be leaving for Tanzania, Zanzibar and Dubai in a months time and have been trying to get all the gear together that I will need, I have been before but that was before I really got into photography and I only had a point and shoot. I was just thinking when I will be shooting from the 4x4 with my 100-400mm I.S. should I use a monopod?? or will this cause the I.S. to take Blurry photos? or Should I use the monopod and turn the I.S. Off? I just dont want to get home and find out that all my photos are soft :( 1 More Question about the Epson Media Storage Devices are they any good I am thinking of buying one to store all my photos on from the holiday.

Thanks
Will

If you're shooting from the 4x4 and the motor's running, avoid having any part of the camera directly contacting (including via monopod) the vehicle. You cna absorb some of the vibration; the monopod will transmit it. By all means use IS with,or without, the monopod. It's really only tripods that cause difficulties for IS. If the vehicle's been turned off, a monopod should be safe, as long as people aren't bouncing around.

When I was in Botswana last December the drivers were very "photo aware" and would not only shut off the engine for viewing, but would position the vehicle, when possible, to suit the available lighting. That wasn't often possible, but they tried. I think a beanbag would be more useful than a monopod, but a monopod doesn't take up much room and they may supply beanbags.
