I would like to see how the ISO 3200 shots look before and after you clean them up. Could you please post some?

You wouldn't see the noise on a 800x600 web shot or an 8x10 print. 5D, Drebel, EOS-3, K1000

Levels/curves adjustment might reduce the visibility of noise That was shot in RAW when I first got the 30D at default parameters. Processed via RawShooter Premium and finished in Photoshop Elements for resizing for web posting with the 100/0.5/0 USM, which might have added a touch of noise. I didn't even own any noise reducing software at the time.

RSE though still availabe, doesn't support the 400D files, and its big brother Raw Shooter Premium no longer exists, and anyway that didn't support the 400D either. Shame really, they were great tools. David: Canon EOS 400D - Canon EF70-300mm f/4-55.6 IS USM -Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4.5 DC Macro - Sigma 50-500 'Bigma' - Speedlite 580EX 11 - Better Beamer

This is 3200 underexposed by 1/2 to 2 stops and pushed in post. Rugby is a pain in the butt to shoot, but I think this makes a good example of what happens when you underexpose at 3200-- you'll still get a useable image but it will be very very noisy. I couldn't extract anything useful from the shots that wound up more than 2 stops under. Here are some more properly exposed shots--
I find that oof areas tend to display noise much more readily than the in focus parts, presumably because the textures of the focused parts disguise the noise. These have only had default lightroom color noise reduction done. --Alex Editorial Portfolio
