I already had Scott Kelbys Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers, which is a great reference book for photoshop and I also had his "The Digital Photography Book" and also found that useful ..... so when I saw this DVD and book combo he had done aimed at Wedding Photographers and for only £16.50 it was an easy purchase.

Photoshop for Wedding Photographers Personal Seminar (external link)

Includes:
Photoshop for Wedding Photographers DVD
and Storybook Wedding Handbook

DVD runtime = 1hr 40mins
Book is same size format as a standard DVD box and about 60 pages

Both the book and the DVD are aimed at making layouts and images for storybook weddings (as you would guess from the title) and although both cover some of the same techniques the DVD and the book complement each other rather than covering exactly the same things so you dont feel like your going over old ground when reading or watching one of them after the other.

If youve been using photoshop for quite a few years and doing layouts yourself for some time then a lot of this may seem basic to you but if your fairly new to CS like I am then theres tons of info in here.

Not only do you get the benefit of the knowledge of how to create overall effects and layouts but you also get 100's of shortcuts along the way from Scott that will be invaluable for cutting down on PP time, for that reason alone its probably worth the £16.50 even if your experienced in photoshop.

Only half way through it at the moment but its a great watch, Scott is easy to listen to and I am learning a lot of good techniques. The other benefit I am getting is that its giving me some great ideas for photos and modifying photos that I already have,

Good review :) What kind of ideas for modifying photos you already have did you learn?

Mainly story book stuff, like for example colour cutaways that will work very well to jazz up our cheap and cheerful photobook that we supply as part of our standard package, I kinda had one method for doing it but on the DVD its a much better method with a much more pleasing end result, blended internal glow edges that sorta thing.... plus saving stuff as templates for future use is gonan be invaluable as we work our way through weddings next year.

Just been playing with CS2 after watching a couple of Tutorials on the DVD and I think that watching video tutorials also makes the shortcut keys stick in my head better than reading books as well which is good because they speed things up a lot.
