What is the best monopod for the money? I am looking to spend as little as possible but also want a "best buy". Thanks in advance

Feisol is a great price for what you get. Carbon fiber, great performance, low price. Check them out at www.feisol.com (external link)

You can add a ballhead for more flexibility if you need.

thanks for the reply. Where can I buy this in the states? I do not see a place to order on their website. Also, which ball head would you recommend?

check out amvona.com's ebay store. Extremely good prices for monopods and tripods.

You can purchase from their website, that is what I did. Quite quick shipping from what I remember.

I use the Manfrotto 486RC2 head which you will find is one of the most recommended for this use on this site. Great value.

If you put a strap around the legs of a tripod, you've got about the same thing? ;)

I use the Bogen/Manfrotto 680B monopod topped off with the Bogen/Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head. It is a very moderately priced, rugged, and versatile package that closes down to a very manageable length for storage and transportation.
