Video Out + Wireless RCA Cable = Fun TV!?

Hey guys.

I just got to thinking about what I could do with the video out on my XT. I've done wireless video transmissions with a base receiver and transmitter, but I've never seen a portable, battery-powered transmitter.

I'm trying to transmit from the video out on the camera wireless to some base station so I can show pictures on a TV as I take them...

Anyone seen a portable transmitter?

the thing is it will be shown at much lower resolution than you took them, so its hard to gauge quality. You can set it up to be tethered to a computer so you can see them on a laptop or monitor as your shoot.

Superb quality won't be much of an issue in this case. I'm thinking more along the lines of little parties or gatherings... If there's a visible TV, it'd be fun for everyone to watch as I take pictures. And by "tethered," I assume you mean wired to a computer, which will defeat my purpose also... If you do have some wireless solution to hook it up to a computer, please let me know!

there is, but its for the top end cameras only and is $1k+ and clunky software

Ah, this one looked like battery operated, but It uses power bricks, not sure if they are AC or DC our, DC out would make it easy to adapt a battery pack, but I don't see you spending $4K for this setup.
i'll see if I can find a cheaper one, like the X10 setup for $50.

Not sure about it's portability, but you could probably use something like this:

generally these sort of devices have a mains transformer plugpack for their power source so you'd have to come up with a suitable batterypack instead for the camera end.
Looks feasable to me...

Also try http://www.supercircui​ts.com/index.asp; we've used their stuff for covert surveillance, and they sell a variety of video transmitters and such. Costs range from not too bad to good lord.

I ordered this last night. Along with the AA adaptor pack. I will post here when I get it to let everyone interested know how well it works.

I have 2 of the receiver that deadpass mentioned above and the video quality is great but the link is not very stable. Also have soem X10 stuff and it's the same problem. Both are very directional which makes the video cut in and out when moving around.

I was impressed with the videos on the booster site. High speed rocket launches and rock solid video. I hope the one I get performs the same.
