Here's a few from yesterday's (12.10.06) wedding. They were a very sweet couple, but it was the most challenging day yet, so if you like any of the pics, I'll be happy. It was super dark and cramped, just to name a couple of the difficulties I faced. I know the groom picture is different, but it shows my dark side. (Insert evil face here) I did get some regular pictures of him as well, but I thought I'd post this one to see what people's reactions were. C&C always welcome. (It's so hard to keep it to eight) Thanks! (insert smiley face here) I do have other favs, BTW, but I wanted to sort of "tell the story."

Thanks for sharing, Jess. I like 1...nice version of a staple shot, BW conversion has good tonal range.

#2 benefits, imo, from some toning, eg sepia. I have really become interested in duo-tone with a champagne color...maybe think about that to offset the dress rom the blown highlight.

#4...excellent contrasting colors, which appeals to me. I like the shot, but got knocked earlier today for focussing on something other than the B/G...who knows.

#5...nice shot, well done...maybe bring more flowers into view to relax the focus on her cleavage.

#6...groom to dark. I can't tell it's him.

3, 7 and 8...may benefit from a more side-oriented perspective to attenuate the rather dichotomous and stark difference in builds of the the B/G...I tread lightly here.:)

Overall, good job.

I think Scott's spot on - this is solid stuff. Nothing groundbreaking, but very sellable, and well executed. Being able to pull off consisten photos in difficult circumstances is a sign of a pro!

I think we all do a version of #4, and the reason folks are starting to grow a little cold towards it is because it is becoming a bit of a cliche. Well executed, though.

I really like #6 (bet you could ave predicted that) because it's DIFFERENT! You tried something new and unusual, with pretty cool results. I think it could be a little stronger with more of the groom visible (especially his head), but bravo for stretching yourself!

Thanks for your comments, guys! #4 is one of my most requested shots, I'm not bored of it yet, though. However, I can see how photogs might be tired of it. Thanks, Jamie, for your comment on #6. You can see his neck and head a little better in the larger version, but I'm glad you can appreciate something different. I agree, Scott, that #2 could use something extra to make it pop. I'll mess w/it more. I already had to clone out a fire extinguisher and two framed signs on either side of the door. Also, thanks for your reassurance, Rico. (sorry, inside joke) :) BTW, if you like #6, Jamie, you should see the pics on the wall in my house - very dark and creepy! Thanks, again!

Good work Jess....looks like the building was challenging...the color of the walls etc....I like #7 the best very traditional, but looks very natural for the couple.
looking forward to seeing more...

You should share them sometime. You've seen my stuff - I love capturing a somewhat creepy feel with my photos! I'd love to see yours.

Oh, thank you. Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to show them. They're from a long time ago, so I think I could do better now, but my husband loves them.

I went back to the groom picture and was able to pull a lot of his neck and head out of the shadows.
