Challenge #49-Eyes

We have had Portrits and Self-Portraits and Macro...so how about a sort of combo of them all. I want to see eyes. Your eyes, friends eyes, pets eyes, bug eyes, whatever eyes you can get. Bold, mysterious, happy, beautiful eyes. Faces framed so all you get is eyes, close ups so there is only one...you get the idea. Have fun and feel free to PM me with questions. And remember to pay close attenetion to the size of your images and list shoooting info. And no commenting till the challenge is over.

Cat's Eye

Sharpened slightly and a crop from a complete shot of his head. You can see the sun and sky in the reflection! (I think I can see the trees as well lol).

Ok...so here it goes. Everyone had some really great shots, and I had a really hard time picking the best. To bad there is only one "first place" :( , but I had to pick so here it is....

First place:

Ashmicek with "Super Eye". - Great use of comp! Your shot reminded me of a magazine add, I also liked your lighting and details. With just enough softness. Well done.

Second place:

Spur with "Rusty the Eye Bolt".- That was a really creative take on the challenge! And your comp and lighting was really nice too.

Third place:

Chenla Ou with "My Eye".-There was no shooting info which is technically against the rules; but the lighting, details and use of focus were so good I had to go with your shot. Really well done, just pay closer attention to adding shooting info next time ;)

Honorable Mention:

Sabrina with the picture of your daughter. The lighting and deatils were really nice, and your daughter has some really lovely eyes!

And I thought I would do what a few other past challenge host's have done, is to post something about the other entries as well.

Winnipeg Shooter; You did a great job in BW conversion, and had nice use of comp as well.
Gerald-NC; I really liked how you got so close to the cats eye, hard to do with animals.
Edd S; Really great DOF and also a creative take on the challenge!
O_T; Nice use of profile to draw attention to eyes.
Mishnogram; I liked you use of DOF and lighting, to draw attention to the little boy.
Circa 2000; You had great DOF and lighting.
MingFromMongo; I liked your comp and lighting.
Scott1120; I liked your crop and DOF, the details were really good.
Paul B; I liked your comp and how it drew attention to the girls eyes, they said it all!

Thanks again to all the entries, it was really hard to pick! And to those of you that didn't make it this time, try again, and have fun :D
