To help with red/silver eyes you need to get the flash further away from the lens stroboframe makes several different bracets. These also alow you to keep the flash above the lens and not to the side which is not a big deal in football but in indoor sports it can help with shadows. The further you are away from the subject the more likley you are to get red eye.

Thanks for the tip, does it matter that the players are regularly 10-20 yards away though, will a flash bracket make a difference
