i don't know what on earth would make him say that but maybe it has something to to with the 300mm F4 IS that he owns which is having problems.

Wow this photo just answered my question, Ive been trying to find photos and get info on how the 70-200 L (non IS) does with the 1x4 converter. Ive had this lens for only a few days and I wrapped in it. I purchased it to replace the EF 100-300 usm and I dont think I would go back to that lens now Ive discovered this one. So I am thinking of getting the converter. FUJI XT5 + XT3 & a bunch of Fuji lenses, Mavic Air2 drone

I handhold everthing and have never had a problem.
