1/4 to 3/8ths adapter?

well i hope im posting in the right forum?
i have an unknown monopod with a 1/4 thread on it, to which i would like to attach my spare manfrotto 484 ballhead to (ok that might not make to much sense..why not just attach camera directly!!..... well i would like to use the quick release.hope that makes sense!!!)so im looking for an adapter to convert the 1/4 thread to 3/8ths thread to fit the 484 ballhead, anyone seen or heard of any adapters..looking in the uk if possible

I'm sure someone can reccomend a good camera supply store in the UK that has them. They can be hard to 'find' on someones web site. Just call a local store.

this is really simple just cut the top of the monopod and fix in a 3/8 bolt using plastic metal then to be sure it wont move drill through the monopod and bolt and put a pin through it then it will never move thats what i did to make a gimble fit.
leve enough thread out and cut it to size later a bit at a time to make sure you dont cut it to short.

good idea gyrob but i dont want to butcher the tripod if i can get hold of an adapter for a cpl of quid?

thats it but prob cost to much in postage..ill have a look on this side of the pond..if not ill see if the machinist at work can knock me one up..shoudnt be to hard for him

Manfrotto/Bogen USA has offered thread adapter bushings for their tripods for a very long time. Look for a Manfrotto dealer who can get one for you.
